What exactly does EyeForAll do?
EyeForAll works closely with doctors in India and foundations such as Vision-Aid to fundraise and facilitate eye care for those in need. India not only has millions suffering from visual impairment but also has millions in poverty. According to CNN and The World Bank, as of 2017, over 60 percent of India’s population lives under 3.10 dollars a day. Those who suffer from eye disease deserve care regardless of their situation.
Vision-Aid
We have fundraised for Vision-Aid, an organization that helps provide eye care, develops new medical technologies, and teaches Indians with visual impairments how to protect their vision.
We organized a fundraiser concert with Indian classical star violinist Ambi Subramaniam on May 24, 2024, which raised over $10,000 to help facilitate Vision-Aid’s work and ensure that they can continue to provide aid for people in need all over India.
We have worked with Dr. PJP Srinivas, an ophthalmologist in Vijayawada, India, to carry out free eye surgeries. We have conducted endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomies, cataract removal surgeries, intra-ocular lens implants, and more. These surgeries allow us to save the vision of individuals who are unable to pay for these operations on their own. Three recipients of these free procedures are pictured.
