EyeForAll

Bringing free ophthalmology care to impoverished regions of India

Our Mission.

EyeForAll was created to combat eye disease in India. According to the National Institute of Health, as of 2017, 4.8 million people in India are completely blind and another 74 million are visually impaired. These numbers are the most of any nation in the world; our mission is to help restore the vision of as many of these individuals as possible.

Why?

As a first generation American whose parents were born and raised in India, I always heard of the dire state of eye disease in India, but I failed to grasp the magnitude of the issue until my grandfather began to suffer from it. My grandfather contracted glaucoma, which was identified too late; this left him legally blind before he later passed away. My grandfather’s procedures came at a massive cost, and it occurred to me that there are individuals in India suffering from the same or similar conditions, but lacking the situation or opportunity to pay for adequate care. It can be difficult to obtain affordable, quality, eye care in poorer and more rural parts of India, and thus solutions come at a cost that are prohibitive to some. This is where I chose to step in and let out a helping hand.
